holiday_promptsWhat's the point of this community?
Basically, the point of this community is to challenge yourself to write, and since we all love holidays it only seems fair that we should share our holiday spirit with our favorite characters and pairings!
How do I start?
First, check out the rules, then if you're still into it, join the community. After that, choose which table (or tables) you want to write and grab the html for it. That's it. You're set. We're ultra low pressure here.
How do I post?
Post here like you would post at any other fic-sharing community. You can either post your fic directly to the comm or post a link to your journal/another site like AO3. Just remember that you MUST post a header outside of the cut/link, and if you post directly to the comm you must post the body of the fic underneath a cut! If you need help posting, please contact a mod.
Do I tag my entries?
Yes, please. Please tag them with author: yourusername and prompt: whichtableyourpromptcamefrom, for example: prompt: winter, prompt: halloween, prompt: thanksgiving. For create-your-own tables, please still tag your prompt's original table.
What types of fic are permissable?
Any fic is acceptable- gen, het, slash, femslash, OT3, etc. All ratings are also acceptable, however please warn for any story rated R/M or higher.
Can I take more than one table at a time?
Take as many as you want! We won't stop you!
Are there any deadlines?
Nope. Write at your own pace, at your own time of year!
Do I have to pick a specific focus?
Nope. Write 100 stories for 100 different fandoms if you want to!
What is the minimum word count? What is the maximum word count?
The minimum word count is 100 words- although if you really have the perfect drabble at 98 words, we're not going to disqualify it. There is absolutely no maximum word count.
When do I post? All a once or one at a time?
Post your entries as you finish them. Although if you feel you're going to be writing all day long, please hold off and post all of your work for the day in one post in order to save people's friends lists. You may post as many drabbles together as you'd like as long as each has the proper header and you don't run out of space in the "submit entry" field!
Can I submit stories I wrote previously?
You can, but what's the point? The only reward for finishing our tables is a silly banner, and that's even on the honor system so you can take that any time... It's really better to just gut out a brand new hundred words than to re-post something you already posted unless you really, really want to.
Can I use new chapters of my WIP as fills for my table?
Absolutely! As long as it fits the prompt, write whatever you want!
What is the policy on AU? What about crossovers?
Whatever floats your boat. Your mods are into lots of fandoms, but not all of them, so chances are we don't even know if your stories are canon anyway.
Can we post the stories elsewhere that we write for this?
Of course! They're your stories, post them wherever you like!
Do we have to post them in order? Or can I post number 23 before number 1, etc?
Post however you want to! Whatever you feel like writing is good, whether you start with #1 or #100.
How central do the prompt words have to be to the story?
Prompts may be interpreted any way you see fit! They're there to inspire, not constrict.
Can I use more than one prompt in one fic?
Sorry, you must write individual fics- one that fits each prompt.
How do I drop my table?
Just stop writing it. We get it. Real life, writer's block... stuff gets in the way. You can always come back to it later if you feel like it!
Can I take the table and do the challenge on my own and not post anything here?
Sure, if you want to, but we'd love to see what you wrote!And then you can't have a banner!
Do I get anything for finishing a table?
You can pick up a snazzy banner here. Or not. We won't be offended if you don't.
